Personal work - Nouvesque typeface
The decision to create my own letterpress blocks was what actually began my journey into typeface design. I am in love with the analogue process of letterpress printing and as a result wanted to explore both the practical process of creating the printing blocks and the creative process of designing a typeface from scratch. These blocks were a labour of love and resulted in being laser cut and hand finished to create a bespoke and unique set of 250 wooden glyphs. Whilst the act of designing NOUVESQUE predated the creation of these items, it began with this result in mind. As you can see, they print well and original prints are available to buy from my shop.
